Level sensors for liquids and solids
Our sensor solutions enable continuous measurement of the fill level of aqueous media, even with an air gap of up to 6 mm. Measurements are contact-free, wear-free, and without direct contact with the medium, ensuring high reliability. Thanks to their maintenance-free design, the sensors function flawlessly even under difficult conditions, such as contamination or biofilm formation. The compact design and standard plug connection also allow easy integration into various applications.
Our sensors are available in different models, either with a sensor area of 25 mm or 96 mm, offering flexible adaptation options for different requirements.

Our sensor solution for capacitive level measurement with capaTEC® technology developed by EBE—the ideal solution for precise measurement of liquids in tanks and containers.
Our electronics, encapsulated in a plastic housing, offer optimum protection against moisture and dust and guarantee reliable measurements.
The capacitive sensor operates with high precision and, thanks to multi-channel technology, delivers maximum resolution and stable results. The compact design and simple assembly allow flexible installation on a wide variety of tanks and containers.
Capacitive level sensors consist of electrically conductive plates separated by a dielectric (non-conductive material). This arrangement forms a capacitor. The level of the medium influences the capacitance of the capacitor because the dielectric constant of the material varies. This means:
- Empty container: The capacitance of the capacitor is low because the dielectric constant of air is relatively low.
- Partially filled container: The capacitance increases as the proportion of the medium, which has a higher dielectric constant, increases.
- Full container: The capacitance reaches a maximum when the fill level completely surrounds the sensor.
The sensor continuously measures the changes in capacitance and outputs corresponding signals, which are then used to determine the current fill level.
Capacitive level sensors are used in numerous industries and environments, including:
- Household appliances: Coffee machines, dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators—sensor technology for storage containers/level measurement of water tanks
- Medical technology: Dialysis machines, ventilators – level monitoring of all media and containers
- Food and beverage industry: Process automation – contactless level measurement in sensitive areas
- Heating and air conditioning technology: Level sensors for containers and siphons
- Water and wastewater treatment: For accurate measurement of water levels and wastewater in sewage treatment plants
- Pharmaceutical industry: For the control and dosing of ingredients and medications in production
Capacitive level sensors offer numerous advantages that make them the preferred choice for many applications:
- High accuracy: They provide precise measurements even with small level fluctuations.
- Versatility: Suitable for liquids, bulk solids, and even viscous or viscous materials.
- Insensitivity to temperature: They function reliably over a wide temperature range.
- No moving parts: This minimizes maintenance and increases the sensor's longevity.
- Fast response time: Ideal for applications that require fast and accurate measurements.
The compact design and standard plug connection also allow for easy integration into various applications. Our sensors are available in different models, either with a sensor area of 25 mm or 96 mm, offering flexible adaptation options for different requirements.
