Limit switch

Honeywell limit switches feature a robust die-cast housing with multiple mounting and actuation options. Low- and high-temperature versions are available, as well as factory-sealed, pre-wired versions.

Structure

  • Housing: The housing protects the internal components of the limit switch from environmental influences such as dust, moisture, and mechanical damage. It is often made of robust materials such as metal or plastic.
  • Actuator: This is the part of the limit switch that physically comes into contact with the object being monitored. It can take various forms, such as levers, rollers, plungers, or push buttons.
  • Microswitch: Inside the limit switch are reliable Honeywell microswitches that close or open the circuit when the actuator mechanism is activated. These contacts can be designed as normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO).
  • Spring mechanism: A spring ensures that the actuating mechanism returns to its original position after activation. This ensures that the limit switch is ready to detect a new movement.
  • Mounting device: Limit switches are equipped with fasteners that allow for easy installation on machines or other devices.

Applications

  • Passenger elevators
  • Escalators/moving walkways
  • Scissor lifts/platform lifts
  • Material transport
  • Equipment for machine tools

  • Metal housing or double-insulated plastic housing for indoor and outdoor applications
  • Wide selection of actuator heads and levers
  • Heads can be positioned in 90° increments to increase design flexibility
  • Side-mounted rotary actuator heads can be factory set for clockwise, counterclockwise, or clockwise and counterclockwise rotation
  • Certified for global applications
