Honeywell CRIR-Series

The CRIR series consists of single-channel, non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensors. The CRIR M1 and CRIR E1 feature a measurement chamber with an infrared source at one end and a detector with an optical filter at the other end. The source emits radiation with wavelengths that include the absorption band of CO2.

The filter blocks wavelengths that are not sensitive to the presence of CO2, thereby increasing selectivity and sensitivity. As light passes through the sensor chamber, some of it is absorbed when CO2 is present. The difference between the light emitted by the source and that received by the detector can then be converted into a CO2 concentration value.

With the Automatic Baseline Correction (ABC) function, the lowest measurement value of the sensor can be automatically calibrated to 400 ppm CO2 over a preconfigured interval. This improves long-term stability and can eliminate the need for calibration.
