Honeywell FSS Series
The FSS series force sensors offer precise, reliable force measurement performance in a compact, robust housing at a cost-effective price. The sensor features proven sensor technology that uses a special piezoresistive, micro-machined silicon sensor element. The unamplified, uncompensated Wheatstone bridge circuit with low power consumption delivers stable mV outputs across the specified force range.
Construction method
The sensor design features a patented modular construction. The use of innovative elastomer technology and technically molded plastics results in an overload capacity of up to three times the rated force. The stainless steel ball offers excellent mechanical stability and can be adapted to a wide range of applications. The FSS series sensors have passed the MCTF (Mean Cycles to Failure) reliability test at 50°C [122°F] with 20 million actuations. This test determines the number of possible sensor operations at full scale until failure.
The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) design enables automated mounting on the printed circuit board (PCB) and eliminates the need for manual soldering.
