Ultrasound

Continuous measurement using ultrasound

The proven method for non-contact and media-independent level measurement: ultrasonic sensors

They are particularly useful in environments where other sensors would not function reliably due to dust, smoke, or other particles.

Most ultrasonic sensors operate on the principle of transit time measurement. This involves measuring the time it takes for the sound to travel from the sensor to the object and back. This time is then converted into a distance. This allows a continuous level to be determined at any time.

Reaches up to 600 cm

The advantages:

  • Non-contact, therefore media-independent
  • Continuous level measurement
  • Resistant to contamination
  • Extremely flexible: for small or large containers, closed or open
  • Versatile use, e.g., for water, oil, chemicals, bulk solids
  • High accuracy and reliability
