Flow sensors

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE
The Honeywell liquid flow sensor uses the principle of convective heat transfer to derive the liquid flow rate from the temperature difference measured between two thermocouples on either side of a heating element. The heating element increases the temperature of the liquid just enough to allow the flow rate of the liquid to be measured as it flows over the measuring nozzle. The temperature of the liquid is only increased in the vicinity of the sensor element and does not affect the temperature of the medium leaving the sensor.
