Honeywell BPS-Series
The BPS Series consists of pressure sensors designed to detect and report thermal runaway events in lithium-ion battery packs. The sensors combine MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) technologies to detect pressure changes within battery packs used in electric vehicles and energy storage systems (ESS).
The measured values are transmitted to the battery management system (BMS) via CAN (Controller Area Network) communication.
Battery Safety Sensor
The BPS series measures absolute pressure from 50 kPa to 300 kPa. It features adjustable warning thresholds for both absolute pressure and pressure change rate. The BPS series enables early detection of thermal runaway in a lithium-ion battery pack. This product impresses with its performance and reliability.
The BPS series is qualified for use in the automotive industry and contains integrated circuits that are qualified according to AEC-Q100 to meet higher quality and reliability requirements. The BPS series is also RoHS compliant.
