Honeywell FSS Series

The FSS Series force sensors deliver precise and reliable force measurement in a compact, robust housing at a cost-effective price point. The sensors are based on proven technology utilising a specially designed piezoresistive, micromachined silicon sensing element.

An unamplified, uncompensated Wheatstone bridge circuit with low power consumption provides stable millivolt output signals across the specified force range.

Construction method

The sensor design is based on a patented modular construction. The combination of innovative elastomer technology and precision-moulded engineering plastics provides an overload capability of up to three times the rated force. The stainless steel ball ensures high mechanical stability and can be adapted to a wide range of applications.

FSS Series sensors have successfully passed the MCTF (Mean Cycles to Failure) reliability test at 50 °C (122 °F) with 20 million actuations. This test determines the number of full-scale operating cycles a sensor can withstand before failure.

The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) design allows for automated PCB assembly and eliminates the need for manual soldering, supporting efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.
