Honeywell IPM Series – the smart fine dust sensors
Greater efficiency thanks to automatic self-calibration
The IPM Series sensors feature automatic self-calibration, making them particularly efficient and reliable. During production calibration, reference parameters for laser light intensity and fan speed are measured and stored within the sensor. During operation, the sensor continuously compares the current values with these reference parameters. Any deviations are compensated by the calibration algorithm, which is applied to the sensor output to minimise drift and maintain high accuracy over the entire service life. This self-calibration process is performed each time the device is powered on.
The sensors offer a detection range from 0 mg/m³ to 1,000 mg/m³. A laser light source illuminates particles as they pass through the detection chamber. The particles scatter the laser light, which is captured by a photodetector. This signal is analysed and converted into an electrical output to calculate the particle concentration.
